The goal is to move the cards from the Tableau to the four Foundation piles in ascending order, from Ace through King, sorted by suit. The Solitaire game is won when all the cards are built into the Foundation. Classic solitaire varies in difficulty depending on the shuffle of the cards. Solitaire is easy to learn but requires strategy and patience to win consistently. Classic or Klondike Solitaire is considered easy in difficulty.

Strategies to Win Solitaire

Solitaire is a single-player card game in which you try to arrange all of your cards into foundation piles. The game was first known, and is still called “Patience,” reflecting the patience needed to win a game. Solitaire is a single-player game that is played with a standard deck of 52 cards.

When looking at 2,898,974 random Solitaire Turn 1 games played, 955,805 (33.0%) were won. Turn 3, which has a win rate of 11.1%, is considered medium in difficulty. You may only move cards off the waste pile, but you may onto and off the foundations. Drag cards to move them between the waste pile, the seven tableau columns (at the bottom), and the four foundations. With the red “Winnable Shuffles” button checked (top right corner of games,) click “Replay” and then “Choose Winnable Shuffle”. Then you can enter a shuffle number for that game. To uncover the cards on the Tableau, Solitaire players should create sequences among the seven piles in descending order with alternating colors.

For example, King of Clubs, Queen of Diamonds, Jack of Spades, 10 of Hearts, and so on. Sequences in Solitaire can be moved to other columns if the first faceup card matches the descending pattern. Cards on the foundations need to be stacked by the same suit from Ace to King.
